I read a book called NightJohn, it shows the perspective of life for a slave. Sarny is a little girl who will spend the rest of her life as a slave. She works out in the fields on some days since she is still young, and helps mammy with the younger at night. Sarny was help mammy one day when their owner that lived in white house named Waller had returned. He had a male salve attached to a collar around his neck. Sarny took one look at his back and said “How is Waller going whip him when his back has no meat on it?” but John did no talking, no eating, but little sleeping. The third night that he was there sarny had asked him what his name was all he replied was “John.”

 Sarny had seen John write a letter , Sarny had wonder and asked what that was. John wanted toabcoo and said that he would trade a bunch of toabcco for letters  and numbers, so they had made a deal.  When he had taught sarny how to spell bag, she kept writing it in the dirt and got caught one day by old Waller. MAmmy had paid the price until John had spoken up, his two toes were cut off.

i rate this a five star book!!

So a thirteen year-old Jonah knew that he was always adopted, but he never would have thought of it as a big deal… So jonah has a friend named Chip he’s thirteen too! But doesn’t know that he’s adopted. Then there is Jonah sister Katherine who has a big crush on chip.  

   But they end up getting werid letters with no return address saying ” your the missing one” or like ” BEWARE! their coming for you!” But now Jonah, chip, and katherine go on exciting but scary mission to found out who Jonahs real parents area! they will have to go through thousand apon thousands of FBI files.

The Tale of Despereaux is about a tiny little mouse born to a family living under a castle. He has Very large ear’s and he’s eye’s are open when he is born. Which is a very bad thing for mice babies! He was the only one to survive from his brother’s and sister’s. 

             When  Despereaux was older his older brother had him go up to the castle where the light was to teach him how to hunt for crumbs. Despereaux had found a book open and he read off the page ” Once apon a time there was…” And his Brother Furlough had freaked and was amazed at what had just happened.

           Furlough had run to their father and told him about it. Despereaux had to be punished and  be put down in the dungeon, where the rats belong. Where there was no light at all. And reader, what happen’s to Despereaux might shock you…

     I recommend this book for who might like stories with a princess, lying, betraying, and a whole lot of mice…

Escape! The Story of The Great Houdini By Fleischman Sid January 8, 2010

This story starts with a great magician, and escape artist. He could get out of anything that you put him in. In hand cuffs a tank full of water with a lock on top, and even a STRAIGHT JACKET!                                                                      

But after a performence of his, he was reclining  couch of his with an art student sketching him. A student with houdini’s permission he asked if he could soccer punch him in the stomach.

I recommend this book for anyone who like stories of escape artists or magicians!

Cirque du Freak by Darrwn shan December 4, 2009

           This story starts off in a very different way than most. All but some names are changed, and beware if you dont like freaky or supernatural stuff dont read further!! This story cantains A main Charatic named Darren and his four friends1 Steves older brother was kicked out of school and turned to the bad side, thats when he got a flyer named “Cirque du Freak!”                                                                    

          When Steve takes  his brothers flyer to school, all of his friends become very intersted! Before you know it there is only TWO tickets and FIVE friends! Who is going to get the tickets? Well they all agreethat since tommy got the tickets he gets One, but they end up drawing sticks. Darren is going to the show with tommy since he had won.
